What we’ve been working on: For the last 12 months we’ve been finessing a clean, minimal and fresh new packaging look for Pelactiv, the industry professionals’ skincare range from Australian Skin Care Company. It’s been a process of endless liaison and much discovery, but we’re proud to say the redesigned range was launched to much acclaim at the 2013 Sydney International Spa and Beauty Expo in late August.
Why it matters: Pelactiv offers a large range of skincare products, but logo placement on their original packaging was too small, and the lockup for each product line was either too understated or lacking in consistency. Our client wanted to retain brand recognition by keeping the core blue only, so we applied this on a stark white background to achieve a clinical style that reflects the product’s salon uptake. We also flipped the logo on its side to give the illusion of change while retaining the essence of the brand.
How this can help you: Brand perceptions change, and producers must have their fingers on the pulse of market perception so they can reach their ideal market. Pelactiv’s original packaging had been in place since the company’s early days. A timely brand refresh such as this one helps deepen the reach to the ideal target market, while communicating growth and change to a wider market.
What our client says: “Angelo has been the main creative driving force during my time at The Australian Skin Care Company in all things packaging and design. I feel the key to the success in our collaboration has been Angelo’s exceptional understanding of both our brand, and how we want it portrayed within the market place. With Angelo’s guidance we have completely overhauled the complete design of our packing delivering a much more sleek, high end yet clinical look.” – Brooke Stilla, General Manager at The Australian Skin Care Company.
“Angelo is a talented designer and fantastic to work with. He is both innovative and is always looking for new solutions and fresh ideas. He has the ability to exceed his client’s expectations and goals whilst still working within the brief. His strengths lie in the ability to listen to customer requirements and design needs and to work those business requirements into an amazing design. Angelo a fun person to work with, and is always helpful and savvy. He is a extremely passionate and professional designer and always has his finger on the pulse when it comes to new creative strategies and technology, this makes him a great asset to any company.” – Roxy Kilroy, Public Relations and Marketing Manager at The Australian Skin Care Company.
